ABOUT THE ROLE

The Warehouse Officer will typically work as part of a team performing well defined tasks where there is a specific objective and outcome. The primary objective of this role is to affect the secure management of materials; to receive, put away, preserve, pick, and deliver items or any other as required activities by the business.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pick and verify materials in a timely manner, guided by the Supply Operations Plan, reservations within the SAP system, or other manual instructions which may be received.
  • Goods Receipt materials within the stores or associated facilities or yards, taking individual responsibility for accuracy and completing inventory transactions.
  • Process returns with the same diligence as outbound materials.
  • Maintain adherence to warehousing and yard principles and processes.
  • Demonstrate a Lead by Example attitude that inspires fellow team members.
  • Actively participate and facilitate Prestart/Toolbox/Transition meetings as required by the Leadership team.
  • Operate counterbalance or high reach forklifts and other materials handling machinery to the required standard whilst complying with site Safety policy and procedures.
  • Routinely cycle count inventory and complete associated paperwork.
  • Log cases of damage.
  • Actively work to keep the workplace clean and safe.
  • Safely load and unload trucks of various configurations and sizes.
  • Any other reasonable request or task that is within their physical capability and skill set and in which they have been trained to the required standard.
  • Follow the principles of Chain of Responsibility.
  • Loading and unloading of offshore containers, freight, special equipment etc.
  • Load restraint.
  • Inspection, Maintenance and cleaning of containers and slings.
  • Dogman duties as required.
  • Checking and signing consignment notes.
  • Review of Certifications for materials
  • Quality Assurance checks
  • Stock disposal processing

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence (Car)
  • Current Forklift Licence (LF)
  • Experience in Warehousing (Desirable)
  • Dangerous Goods Awareness (Desirable)
  • IMDG (International Marine Dangerous Goods) (Desirable)
  • Knowledge and experience of applicable standards and legislation for dangerous goods handling, storage, and transport (Desirable)
  • Current first aid certificate (Desirable)
  • High risk dogman ticket (Desirable)
  • Knowledge and understanding of applicable legislation relating to load restraints. (Desirable)
  • Experience in SAP will be highly regarded, as will knowledge of other inventory and work order management systems.
  • Ability to learn and develop new skills.
  • Pro-active, goal oriented with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effectively manages change to work tasks and the work environment, and assists others with adapting to change.
  • A person of integrity who is trusted by others and consistently honours their commitments.
  • Able to identify issues, problems and opportunities; make timely decisions; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups, and make presentations when required.
  • Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to learn and continuously improve on performance.
  • Able to work on multiple projects of various size and complexity.
  • Able to work effectively in small to large multi-disciplinary teams and share and transfer knowledge within teams.
