Truck Driver

About the Role:

Working as a member of the production team, the Truck Driver is responsible providing a delivery and pick up service between the organisation and their customers and suppliers within safety, quality and environmental parameters.

The Truck Driver also provides support to the warehousing and logistics functions of the organisation to maximise efficiency and assists in the workshop areas as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the efficient distribution of finished goods to customers and delivery of raw materials to production;
  • Oversee the safe loading and unloading of materials and finished goods, including tie down to relevant safety standards;
  • Collect materials from suppliers;
  • Maintain the truck in clean, sound working order and fueled at all times;
  • Maintain accurate truck log book;
  • Monitor the condition of tie down straps/chains and notify management of any non-conforming items;
  • Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of immediate and site work areas, equipment and tools;
  • Liaise with other production personnel on a day-to-day basis to ensure duties are performed efficiently and effectively.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven work experience as a Truck Driver, with Truck (HC) Licence;
  • Hands on experience with loading and unloading large, heavy inventory and finished goods;
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
  • No recent moving or driving violations.
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
  • Heavy Vehicle Multi Combination License
  • Forklift License
  • Construction Card (White Card)
