About the role:

a key role as part of the Technical Support Team in developing and articulating comprehensive strategies in the development of renewable energy projects portfolio. Technology includes Energy Storage, Photo Voltaic, Hybrid, gas turbine and Wind technologies on major project opportunities.

Why this role matters:

  • support Origins growth aspirations regarding the assessment of new potential transmission connection or acquisition assessment of projects from other parties
  • undertake multicriteria preliminary desktop assessments utilising their detailed knowledge of transmission systems and the NEM as well as co-ordinating other Subject Matter Experts to contribute to full due diligence assessments
  • define and develop the scope required for complex technical studies by specialist consultants and ensure that key tactical and risk recommendations are made
  • leading and undertaking highly complex assessments of discrete grid connections as well as strategic review, recommendations, and decisions in relation to the wider National Electricity Market to Origin to select strategic energy sites and projects
  • present opportunities and risks are clearly to the business for consideration
  • remain the in house Subject Matter Expert in relation to changes to the National Electricity Rules and work closely with the Origin Regulatory Team

What will you bring?  

  • Considerable technical renewable energy development experience In the National Energy Market
  • Significant experience in connection of new assets to the National Energy Market
  • In depth understanding of the AEMO Integrated System Plan and related documentation
  • Highly developed communication skills (Verbal and written) Including Influencing and negotiation
  • Ability to travel when required
  • Engineering degree with 10 years relevant experience in the Australian market
