About the opportunity
The Victorian Government is upgrading the Eastern Freeway with new express lanes, new traffic management technology and Melbournes first dedicated busway. These changes will slash travel times and improve public transport in Melbournes east.
Laing ORourke is part of the Eastern Freeway Burke to Tram Alliance with Major Road Projects Victoria, Symal, Arcadis and WSP. Our scope of work includes a new interchange connecting the Eastern Freeway to the North East Link tunnels, major road and bridge upgrades between Burke Road and Tram Road, smart traffic management technology upgrades and new noise protection to meet Victorias toughest traffic noise standards. The local community will also benefit from new and upgraded walking and cycling connections, upgrades to Koonung Creek Reserve and revitalised wetlands and open spaces.
About the role
We are currently seeking a Trainer/Facilitator to join our team on the Eastern Freeway Burke to Tram Alliance, reporting to the Health and Safety Systems and Assurance Lead.
The primary focus of this role is to support the development, delivery, and review of our compliance training programs within the Alliance. You will play a key role in delivering and developing internal training programs, including (but not limited to) Project Inductions, Wellbeing and Safety Culture Programs, Management System and Risk Management Training, Procedural and Awareness Training, and site-specific training requirements such as Emergency Management Training and Verification of Competency (VOC).
Key Responsibilities
- Create microlearning modules that effectively translate EBTA procedures into engaging, digestible, and easily understood content.
- Organise and facilitate regular Project Inductions, ensuring alignment with project and legislative requirements.
- Facilitate internal training programs, including the Energy Project, Rethinking Safety Through Inclusion and Wellbeing, HSEMS Delivery Excellence, and Risk Management courses.
- Support the facilitation of training sessions in EBTA’s immersive training room.
- Collaborate with the Compliance Training Advisor to ensure internal programs align with TNA compliance.
- Develop a quarterly training schedule.
- Assist in delivering emergency management and system process training.
- Contribute to the development of EBTA internal VOC instruments and conduct VOC assessments for direct hire workforce, utilising an on-site SME.
About you
- Demonstrated experience in a training role, with a strong track record in developing and delivering training material.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage training programs effectively.
- Formal qualifications in Training and Assessment (TAE) are required.
- Additional qualifications, such as Work at Heights and Confined Spaces and high-risk competencies, are desirable.
