the ugls maintenance & manufacturing facility based in bassendean has an opportunity for an experienced trades assistant to join the team.
this position will be a permanent full-time opportunity working on a rotating roster, one week of day shift 6.00am 2.30pm, one week of afternoon shift 1.30pm pm.
reporting to the workshop supervisor, the main purpose of this role is to assist qualified trades staff in the performance of their work in a safe and efficient manner to deliver an exceptional standard of service to our clients.
about the role
- assist tradespeople as instructed to enable work to be carried out
- operate hand tools in safe and efficient manner
- assist in maintenance and overhaul activities on a variety of components
- labouring duties as required
- cleaning armature & stator cores for rewind
- ensure active involvement in lean practices
- a strong commitment to maintaining a safety environment
about you
- minimum 3 months experience on a maintenance site preferred but not essential
- elevated work platform ticket preferred but not essential
- ‘c’ class drivers license
- able to perform duties, maintaining high standards in both safety and quality.
- sound experience in a similar role assisting trades people in a heavy industry environment
- high level of measuring skills and eye for detail and quality standards
- strong safety culture and attitude towards safety
- strong communication skills
