We are seeking an experienced High Voltage Electrical Supervisor to join our Fixed Infrastructure Services team. Reporting to the Fixed Infrastructure Services Superintendent, this role provides supervision, leadership, and technical support to our high voltage (HV) and cable handling teams.
You will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our E electric excavator and delivering production targets. This includes managing statutory obligations, coordinating resources, and overseeing HV cable handling and switching.
You will also be responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors to uphold Fortescues commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold statutory appointment as an Electrical HV Supervisor, High Voltage Operator, and nominee for Fortescues Electrical Installing Work License.
- Lead and supervise the HV electrical team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-standard work.
- Coordinate with mining leadership and planners to align cable routes with the mine plan.
- Conduct inspections, risk assessments, and statutory testing of HV systems.
- Ensure compliance with site standards, WA Mines Safety Regulations, and Australian Standards.
- Maintain all electrical logs, registers, and SAP work orders.
- Cultivate a team culture that aligns with Fortescues values of safety, empowerment, and integrity.
Qualifications and Experience
- Electrical experience in the mining industry, with experience in a supervisory role.
- Experience with electric excavators or shovels (preferred).
- Extensive knowledge of HV systems, fault finding, and problem-solving.
- Proven experience with preparing and executing high voltage switching programs and isolation plans.
- WA Electrical License (Grade A), High Voltage Switching Certificate and relevant OEM training.
- First Aid and Low Voltage Rescue & CPR certifications.
- Knowledge of WA Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations and the relevant legislation for HV systems.
