Sr. Business Development Manager – ISP

Position is responsible for growth and new business development of the EverWhite® Pigment product line. This role will manage US Silica’s ISP New Business Development Team in addition to having individual sales responsibility and targets. Will serve as the primary face to the industry for Everwhite Pigment (EWP) and be expected have a high level of collaboration with individuals in the R&D, market development and sales functions to bring forward ideas for new product variants and sales strategies. Target industries for business development include, but are not limited to, coatings, inks, plastics, and building products.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Meet/exceed annual budget via the acquisition of new business and the commercialization of new
  • Execute comprehensive strategies to develop new accounts and manage existing accounts to profitably grow the EWP product line.
  • Track, manage, and communicate progress of sales pipeline activities for the New Business Development team
  • Work closely with market development and R&D teams to provide customer feedback regarding the new product pipeline in order to improve the product development and commercialization process.
  • Builds multi-level customer relationships characterized by a high degree of trust and mutual respect.
  • Develop, in conjunction with comms individuals, new marketing materials to help increase awareness and accelerate uptake of EWP throughout the target industries
  • Create, negotiate and administer terms of all account price and supply
  • Work closely with Operations and Supply Chain to minimize cost-to-serve and maximize account profitability.
  • Fulfills administrative duties required including completion of accurate and timely call reports, monthly sales forecasts, new sales opportunities, special price requests, customer complaint initiation and resolution, and travel expense reporting by utilizing Salesforce, Concur and other relevant
  • Work from a remote location or home office; requires a self-starter who is very organized and can handle the majority of administrative responsibilities
  • Geography: Primarily USA and CAN, international as customer opportunities dictate

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:    

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Science Related
  • Master’s degree is a plus
  • Minimum 7 years experience in sales and marketing of raw material products (titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate, kaolin clay, etc) into several of the following industrial markets (chemicals, building products, paint, coatings, plastics, elastomers, rubbers, polymers, silicones).
  • The candidate must have experience in “value selling” and seek high value by using his/her ability to develop a value proposition of differentiation on product and service.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage complex customer relationships and
  • Verbally transmits ideas, instructions and information so that they are clearly understood by others. Writes clear, concise and grammatically correct documents that others can easily understand. Creates communications to match the needs of a particular
  • Possess business acumen, an understanding of the financial impact of sales tactics on both Specialty Minerals and the
  • Organizes and plans work in advance, deciding on the most efficient or convenient manner in which to do tasks or
  • Demonstrated experience with contract negotiation and Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new business management software.
