THE ROLE
The Asset Services Contracts Team provides end-to-end procurement and contract management support for the Upstream Operator of the APLNG Project.
The key goal for this team is to manage the effective delivery of the contracts required to achieve the strategic objectives and value targets of the Upstream Operator for the APLNG Project.
The contracts team have a sourcing specialist role available for a 12-month parental leave cover, based in Brisbane.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the tender process through to contract award.
- Formulate sourcing strategies and commercial models that maximise value to the business
- Ensure the relevant value drivers are achieved through the sourcing process and captured in the contract
- Conduct market research and analysis to inform the sourcing strategies
- Lead negotiations with tenderers, including liaising with the internal teams (i.e. Legal, HSE, Insurance, Tax etc.), contract owners and technical experts
- Ensure contracts include adequate terms and provisions to meet the operational requirements of the business and manage the required level of risk
- Effectively deliver of sourcing activities in line with the timing and quality expectations of the business
- Ensure compliance with the APLNG JV requirements
- Contribute to contract risk assessments, particularly through the identification of commercial and procurement risks, and developing relevant risk controls and assurance measures.
- Draft internal documentation such as: Sourcing Strategies, Probity Plans, Tender Evaluation Plans, Contract Award Recommendations, Board Papers and Contract Handover Forms.
- Draft contract terms, scope(s) of work, specifications and commercial models (with the consultation and input of the legal team and internal stakeholders).
- Manage approvals in accordance with the Origin Delegation of Authority Framework and other Origin Directives.
- Document and maintain thorough records of all stages of the sourcing process which creates a clear audit trail and culminates in a post-award handover of all required information to the Contract Owner and Contract Specialist.

Additionally, youll need to develop and present tender updates to internal approvers and possess strong project management abilities. Familiarity with SAP and Ariba systems is desirable. Experience
- Experience in a similar role within the O&G or heavy industry desirable
- Undergraduate degree in construction management, quantity surveying, supply chain management, economics, law, engineering, business or similar relevant discipline.
