About your role: 

As Senior Trader, you will play an integral role in Ergon Retails participation on the National Energy Market. The position has you develop and implement future trading and hedging strategies for the trading of electricity derivatives, gas and renewable energy certificates that optimise price, volume and risk for the business. You will also be required to operate Ergon Energy Retails Power Station and battery fleet in the spot electricity market. The role is responsible for generating an optimised portfolio considering inputs such as customer load, generation / storage, PPAs and Environmental Compliance.

About you:  

In addition to your Relevant Australian Financial Markets Association accreditation for compliance with Australian Financial Services Licence, you hold at minimum a bachelor’s in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or related discipline. 

  • You are excited to bring your vision and are looking to share new and innovative ideas that drive the business. We are also looking for:
  • Extensive experience in forward trading on the Australian Energy Market, or equivalent experience in energy commodities or financial derivatives market.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing quantitative risk for a large organisation.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders and third parties, including influencing executive leaders.
  • Experience in large scale and flexible generation.
