We are seeking a Senior Project Manager, Services to join our Repair Center and Field Services team. You will be responsible for Market Area Project execution and related customer communication. Projects will range from minor repairs to complete rebuilds or replacements of equipment. You will work with customers and assist in creating proposals per the customer scope of work expectations. You will ensure parts deliveries are tracked and delivered on time, the resources are scheduled and understand full scope of the work, achieve targets for safety, quality, schedule, and budget. You will be responsible for stakeholder communication and relationship management including customers, suppliers, and internal units. You will also be responsible for closing out the project, evaluating final cost and delivering the invoice. You will be responsible for managing employees that are assigned to you.      

In this position, you will report to the Senior Service Operations Project Manager.

This position is mainly located in Mesa, AZ but, we are able to consider York, PA, as well.  We offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options; however, this position may involve up to 30% of international and/or domestic travel to customer sites and other internal Metso sites for training/meetings.

What youll do

  • Responsible for managing projects, ensuring deliveries are properly resourced, meet customer expectations, fulfill contract obligations, and achieve targets for safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Execute projects as sold by the Sales Account Managers / Proposal Department
  • Enter purchase orders and projects into SAP Business System and perform all required SAP functions including purchase requisitions, invoices, cost runs, and proper job closeout procedures within SAP.
  • Prepare internal and external kick-off meeting to define project objectives and clarify contractual issues as required.
  • Create project schedules including equipment supply and installation schedules in coordination with other Metso departments including engineering and field service units using MS project.
  • Work in liaison with the various technical support staff within Metso organization to coordinate the design of procedures, special tooling, jigs, and fixtures that are needed to execute the work scope.
  • During project execution, coordinate delivery of materials and/or labor
  • Maintain records of installation progress and technical information for all field service events
  • Responsible for stakeholder communication and relationship management (customers, suppliers, internal units)
  • Communicate with Field Service and contractor workforce during site work.
  • Coordinate field activities with the customer and/or the customers contractor(s)
  • Provide technical support to customers.
  • Prepare detailed scope of work plans, estimates, and customer proposals for extra work not included in the original contract.
  • Responsible for adhering to robust scope change management practices in delivering projects.
  • Invoice the customer as per contract requirements and in a timely manner.
  • Approve suppliers invoices as per contract requirements.
  • Follow-up on project cost deviation, cycle times, and Accounts Receivable
  • Responsible to manage lessons learned, identify continuous improvement opportunities, and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.
  • When appropriate, make recommendations to improve field methods and/or efficiency.
  • Take a leadership position in the planning and execution of larger more complex projects.
  • Carry out other service-related tasks as a member of Metso Minerals’ Service Group as may be requested by the Manager.
  • Customer site visits as required for onsite meetings, equipment evaluation, coordination with the customer, etc.
  • Responsible for direct reports training and development.
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving direct reports proposals and reports.
  • Responsible for continues process improvement.
  • Other duties, as assigned

Who you are

  • Experience in project execution serving mining or other heavy equipment industries preferred.
  • Project management certification or other professional degree is preferred.
  • Solid SAP fluency and experience is required.
  • Salesforce experience is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.
  • Fluent English is required
  • Knowledge of Metso capital equipment products is a plus.
  • Fundamental knowledge of commercial and legal terms and conditions
  • A high degree of precision and attention to detail
  • The ability to understand engineering drawings is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with a bias for action and the ability to motivate teamwork.
  • Autonomous, capable of making decisions, work with minimum supervision.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask and prioritize various activities to ensure timely and accurate compliance with schedule and budget requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, visitors, co-workers, management, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory inspectors.
  • Polished customer relations and good interpersonal relations skills
  • In-depth knowledge of personal computers, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work under stress and meet tight deadlines.
