Description:
ConocoPhillips Canada is hiring a Joint Venture Representative, reporting to the Director, Commercial & Joint Venture. The Joint Venture Representative plays a key role in negotiating and managing our joint venture relationships. This has the potential to include several major agreements, and the successful candidate will participate in and represent ConocoPhillips Canada’s view in ongoing industry meetings. The Joint Venture Representative will work with operations and development teams to understand production forecasts and ensure proposed revisions and extensions to service agreements are in line with our plans. This role also collaborates with business support functions such as Finance, Legal and Low Carbon.
This role is based out of Calgary on a Monday to Friday optional hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Represent ConocoPhillips Canada in the Pathways meetings, Commercial and/or Economic Participation meetings, supporting the Director Commercial and Joint Venture. Ensure internal alignment and influence direction with external stakeholders.
- Provide Commercial oversight to Montney Electrification Initiative, as well as other Commercial non operated initiatives.
- Coordinate with the Asset Team to work with partners in wells to optimize CPC infrastructure capital investment.
- Lead negotiations and terms of joint interest related agreements.
- Identify and lead negotiation of new CO&O and Unit/Unit Op Agreements, including amendments to existing as may be required from time to time.
- Provide expertise on assumptions required for developing project economics.
- Understand partner and third-party business objectives, strategies, and drilling/project activities to identify opportunities and to take actions to protect CPC interests.
- Perform simple cash flow analyses to screen opportunities and inform negotiations.
- Develop and maintain effective internal and external networks, including field visits.
- Ensure proper administration of all agreements.
- Understand and demonstrate CPC Safety, People, Integrity, Responsibility, Innovation, and Teamwork (S.P.I.R.I.T) values.
Required Qualifications:
- University Degree or equivalent.
- Petroleum Joint Venture Association (PJVA) agreement courses and seminars or equivalent.
- 15 years of Oil and Gas experience.
- Commercial Negotiation experience and strong Commercial acumen required.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate with and influence outcomes with numerous partners.
- Experience in economic analysis. Thorough understanding of common economic metrics.
- Direct Joint Interest experience and thorough knowledge of Joint Interest agreements.
- Occasional travel to Fort St. John and the Montney facilities
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, including full command of written and spoken English, essential.
- Leadership experience
- Competency in CS Explorer, Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, and ArcGIS or AccuMap.
