About the role

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and managing Ore Source Studies, Order of Magnitude Studies, Prefeasibility, and Feasibility studies. You will also play a key role in overseeing the Life of Mine (LOM) plan, ensuring effective management of Resources and Reserves throughout the project lifecycle.

Your primary responsibility will be to undertake and coordinate all aspects of geotechnical engineering for the Life of Mine and Exploration plans. This includes managing the geotechnical engineering studies for site projects, ensuring that they align with project goals, operational requirements, and safety standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee geotechnical work for projects and Life of Mine (LOM) studies, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
  • Conduct rock mass analysis, define geotechnical properties, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Proactively manage geotechnical risks, supporting site projects and LOM schedules.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Mine Operations, Ore Processing, and external stakeholders such as universities and consultants.
  • Contribute to financial decision-making, including major project evaluations and procurement activities.

About you

  • Expertise in underground mining operations and planning with a degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven track record in managing geotechnical risks, rock mass analysis, and geotechnical mapping.
  • Experience with block cave mining methods and proficiency in mining and geotechnical software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Skilled in technical writing and producing accurate reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and mitigate geotechnical risks effectively.
