Senior Estimator
This client is a multi disciplinary construction and engineering business working across Transport, power, marine, rail, mining and infrastructure projects. As a business they have grown considerably over the past 8 years and built a very reputable business across the Australian construction industry.
The Role:
The role will involve estimating on Government, Rail, Construction, Marine and infrastructure projects. Reporting to the national lead there will be lots of scope for career progression into a managing estimator role
Duties will include:
- Estimating from first principles
- Planning, programming and scheduling
- Preparation of tender documents. Quantity take off, Preparing RFQ, Costing and detailed BOQ, Contract conditions
- Oversee estimating function
- Be instrumental in tendering strategies
- Attending tender interviews with the client and negotiations
- Keep track of tenders and upcoming jobs and also preparation of reports
- Maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Proposing value engineering solutions and reducing costs
Requirements for this role:
- Degree in quantity surveying, civil engineering or related discipline
- Be highly analytical with strong attention to detail
- Proven track record of winning tenders on rail, construction and civil infrastructure projects up to $50m
- First principal estimating experience
- Management training or qualification
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work autonomously or in a team
