About the role
This is a full time permanent opportunity located in Brisbane CBD.
The Senior Environmental Advisor Approvals provides technical advice and support to the Growth & Future Energy division in the delivering the renewable energy projects, whilst supporting the broader operational governance framework.
Key activities include:
- Deliver HSE support, specifically Environmental approvals to all of Stanwells major renewable energy projects across Queensland.
- Leading the HSE team on environmental approvals, issues, regulation and management at local, state, national and international levels.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide functional environmental planning, approval and general advice consistent with legislation, strategic objectives, policies and best practice standards.
- Travel to construction and operational sites on an as needs basis, is required to deliver the outcomes of the role.
About you
- At least five to seven years experience within renewable or heavy industry such as power, gas, wind, solar, hybrid power, and infrastructure would be an advantage.
- A bachelors degree (minimum) in relevant discipline including Environmental Science, Management or Engineering;
- Certification and registration as an Environmental Professional (desirable).
- Qualifications in environmental or quality auditing in accordance with SAI Global (desirable).
- Demonstrated success in obtaining regulatory approvals, including negotiating suitable regulatory conditions.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including consultation, networking, conflict resolution, liaising across all levels.
- Demonstrated success in leading major projects or initiatives which deliver best practice environmental outcomes in a timely fashion
