As a sample reception officer you will be pivotal in the efficient management of incoming samples to our dynamic laboratory in Enderley. In this position, you’ll greet couriers and customers, triage and prioritize samples, and manage their storage with precision. Your role will also involve maintaining cool rooms and storage areas while assisting with various tasks as directed by your Team Leader or Client Service Manager. A science background is advantageous, but a passion for teamwork and a high level of attention to detail are essential.
The day to day
Responsibilities of the Sample Receipt Triage is responsible for:

  • Reception duties greeting couriers, customers and ALS Samplers delivering samples.
  • Triaging samples accurately and promptly, ensuring that urgent samples are prioritised.
  • Placing samples in the cool room in the appropriate order after they have been logged.
  • Maintaining sample fridge and other esky store areas.
  • Communicating with clients around testing options and practices.
  • Working productively with other teams across the laboratory.

The Sample Receipt Officer should possess:

  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills – excellent phone and email manner.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to absorb and retain high levels of information.
  • Be a team player who enjoys working within a group environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Science background is advantageous.
