The Role
ALS is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our metallurgical services business based at our Iron Ore Technical Centre (IOTC) in the suburb of Wangara, Perth, Western Australia. Successful applicants will become part of its busy metallurgical testing laboratories that strives to exceed customer expectations by delivering quality results and by maintaining strong relationships with its clients.
Initially, these would be casual positions with a view to permanent employment after a period of service. This role requires shift work and hours are equivalent to full time hours. The laboratory is based in Wangara, a northern suburb of Perth. These are not FIFO mine site positions.
The day to day
Training will be provided for all duties.
Typical duties include:
- Handling and preparation of Iron ore samples (inventorying, crushing, blending, and pulverising)
- Grinding, size analysis, filtering, drying and sample submissions
- Iron ore related testing (drop tower, bulk density, jigging and magnetic separation)
The essentials
- These are physically demanding positions that require applicants to be physically fit and prepared to carry out manual tasks.
- Have access to reliable transportation and be able to work day or afternoon shift as required.
- Having the ability to follow set procedures.
- Have a high attention to detail.
- Being willing to work as part of a high performance team with a focus on quality & safety
- Willing to work in a dusty and noisy environment.
Applicants with previous experience in similar laboratory or mine site roles will be highly regarded, however, training will be provided for successful applicants with no experience.
