Rope Access Superintendent

The Role

Seeking an experienced Rope Access Superintendent to join our team for ongoing works in Port Hedland.   

This role will be responsible for performing Rope Access activities and providing on-site supervision and safely coordinating Rope Access operations.

As well as providing highly trained and experienced operators for industrial/fixed plant maintenance, we also provide open pit, underground, mine infrastructure and civil ground support services.

The role is ideal for Locals or FIFO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of multi-disciplined trade personnel on projects and shutdowns completing fixed plant maintenance and upgrades along with various other scopes. Trades will include Boilermakers, Electricians, NDT Techs, Riggers and Painters
  • Liaise with the Site Manager as required throughout the day, to review project workload.
  • Scoping of potential works during estimation phase to advise on correct manning and equipment levels.
  • Supervise Rope Access and Trade activities on designated projects/shutdowns, along with any potential rescue for each Rope Access project under their supervision
  • Coordination and distribution of workload to personnel in an efficient manner.
  • Assist site administration in the preparation of project roster and manning levels prior to mobilising.
  • Ensure Rope Access is inspected at regular intervals as required under Clients guidelines, IRATA, ICoP, and OSHs regulations.
  • Monitor the equipment to ensure compliance with legislative and IRATA requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all specific legislative and site requirements
  • To give the highest level of service possible to all of our clients.
  • Ensure correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on site at all times.
  • To carry out all other reasonable requests in line with the terms of employment.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Trade Certificate – Boilermaking
  • IRATA Qualification (or experience)
  • Previous experience in estimating work scopes through to execution
  • Safety Awareness Training Card (white card)
  • Section 44 Training Appointed Persons
  • Pass a pre-employment medical
  • Hold a current drivers licence
  • Strong computer and systems skills and knowledge
  • A qualification in Management (e.g. Frontline Management) would be highly regarded.
