job purpose
coordinate on-site teams to deliver relevant scopes of work in accordance with project plans and specifications to achieve effective performance in accordance with detailed short-term programs and schedules within the designated time and budget. implement site safety, quality and environment control and identify and assess potential risks.
key responsibilities
coordinate the work and performance of multiple teams and subcontractors to achieve outcomes.
provide and take leadership responsibility in health, safety and environment management.
contribute to development of work methods and rolling short term construction programs and plan weekly/fortnightly/and monthly production work.
build strong internal and external stakeholder management through positive, proactive and professional communication to keep key personnel informed.
complete progress reporting, and activities, reports for shift handovers and consistent regular reporting to the superintendent row, maintenance delivery manager, or head of infrastructure maintenance.
ensure compliance of commercial and financial costs including budgets and the implications of directions within your authority limits
read and understand plans, review design documentation, read drawings, and provide constructive review and implementing of final designs
ensure contractual mechanisms of subcontracts are being adhered to and implemented.
identify and mitigate risks prior to works commencing, communicate with and engage relevant stakeholders to control risk and contribute to build a risk management culture.
maintain effective consultation with various workers representatives and committees on industrial and safety subjects handling issues as they arise and referring major issues to the infrastructure maintenance manager.
qualifications
trade qualification or qualifications and training, e.g. diploma, building/construction, project management, surveyor, frontline management, agricultural management, vegetation management etc.
worksite protection at the required po2 level.
current class 1 (minimum) driving license
5 years previous rail experience in a similar role.
technical competencies required in vegetation management, drainage, fencing, roads or civil earthworks
