Are you passionate about engineering and sales support with a flair for creating tailored solutions? Join our Bulk Material Handling (BMH) Product team as a Proposals and Sales Support Engineer. In this exciting role, you’ll craft innovative and complex offerings that address customer needs, including engineering services, spare parts, upgrades, and retrofits. You’ll focus on Metso’s Bulk Material Handling Electrical and Instrumentation product group, which is part of our broader Grinding, Bulk, and Pyro product range, encompassing Grinding, Bulk, and Pyro equipment. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Bulk Material Handling E&I Proposals & Sales Support.

This position is based in York, PA, with hybrid working options available.

What You’ll do as a Proposals and Sales Support Engineer

  • Customer-Centric Solutions: Review customer inquiries to identify needs, requirements, and exceptions. Visit customers to understand their business, decision-making process, and key drivers.
  • Innovative Proposals: Create compelling proposals for complex upgrades, refurbishments, and retrofits to meet market demands. Define application equipment specifications to ensure competitiveness.
  • Value Communication: Clearly articulate Metso’s value proposition, ensuring proposals are commercially viable and competitive while managing and mitigating risks.
  • Standard Offerings: Develop and deploy standard commercial offerings for upgrades, retrofits, and refurbishments, leveraging the installed base to drive business.
  • Supplier Coordination: Create effective Request For Quotes (RFQs) and obtain proposals from third-party suppliers. Define supply needs for Procurement to support opportunities.
  • Seamless Handover: Ensure smooth transition of as-sold packages to the project management team. Collaborate with other Metso business lines to deliver value-added, sustainable proposals.
  • Sales Support: Provide direct sales support, ensuring all related company intellectual property is controlled and protected.

Who You Are

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in engineering or a related field. Previous experience in generating product pricing, reviewing customer inquiries, or designing custom solutions is preferred. Familiarity with Grinding, Bulk, and Pyro product groups is a plus.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding electrical drawings (single line diagrams, schematics, communications diagrams, technical documentation) in both English and Metric systems. Adept with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Experience using Salesforce or other CRM systems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
