About the Opportunity 

ASC is committed to continuously enhancing our organisational capabilities, particularly in supporting Submarine Build and Sustainment programs of work. The Program Quality Manager is accountable for the management and leadership of the Quality Assurance departments under the umbrella of an exciting new program by ensuring that high quality, safe and efficient systems of work are in place.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and execute the Program Quality Management Strategy in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Setting standards in line with relevant legislation, accreditation requirements and policy; such as those pertaining to ISO.
  • Ensuring consistent work processes/approaches to tasks (where beneficial) to support continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Overseeing change management process for improvements to systems and processes.
  • Developing the provision of quality assurance guardrails for the Program including the appropriate operating models and systems of work
  • Providing advice and clear articulation of frameworks and policies, ensuring they are understood and executed accordingly.
  • Set and achieve strategic goals, ensuring alignment and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to the program.
  • Manage and allocate budget effectively across the program.
  • Define and implement governance programs in the Quality function.
  • Support team development, encourage innovation, and conduct performance reviews for continuous improvement.

About you  

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Quality Management or related discipline
  • Proven experience and competency with Nuclear and/or SUBSAFE quality/certification systems in a Shipyard/dockyard or heavy engineering environment
  • Demonstrated experience and competency in the management and leadership of a cross-functional team across multiple locations.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in the Quality Management and Leadership, preferably in submarine sustainment and/or shipbuilding
  • Proficiency in Dockyard/Shipyard processes, Quality Management Systems and capability realisation plan development
  • Strong understanding of shipbuilding / defence sector through previous work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement interventions and high-quality solutions to complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high performing teams in complex environments
  • Ability to set priorities and achieve deadlines within a fast paced environment.

Eligibility 

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
