ABOUT THE ROLE

Thiess is seeking experienced Production Leading Handsto join our team at our Peak Downs mine located 6km south-east of Moranbah in the Bowen Basin.

Working a 7/7 roster rotating days/nights, your duties will include:

Assist the Production Supervisor with leading a mining crew to deliver production results safely and efficiently
Provide Step-Up Supervisor support where required
Carry out effective inspection and reporting processes in accordance with relevant site policies and procedures
Co-ordination of dispatch personnel, production operators and equipment to deliver the production schedule
Conduct mining practices to reduce costs and improve efficiency
Actively seek continuous improvement

REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience acting as a Step-Up Supervisor or Leading Hand in an open-cut coal mining environment is highly regarded
A solid understanding of the processes involved with open cut coal mining
Great organisational, communication and presentation skills coupled with approachable and motivational qualities
Proven leadership experience and people management skills is essential
Qualifications that support your experience and success within the coal mining industry
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Current S123 and G2
