About the opportunity:

Are you a payroll professional ready to make a significant impact? We are looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to support our Head of Payroll and Payroll Team Leader to ensure seamless operations across the payroll function.

As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll be instrumental in developing, refining, and rolling out both existing and new payroll processes, always striving for excellence alongside relevant compliance and legislative requirements.

You will be responsible for delivering a professional and responsive payroll service to the business, meeting the needs of both internal and external stakeholders. You’ll also have the opportunity to step up and lead during the Payroll Team Leader’s absence, ensuring our payroll processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Detailed responsibilities are found in the Position Description which is available upon request and will include:

  • End-to-end payroll service delivery, processing and assisting in the weekly, fortnightly and monthly pay cycles.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external customers fostering improvement opportunities.
  • EOM (End of Month), including Superannuation, Payroll Tax, Third Party payments and year-end activities.
  • Conducting testing for necessary upgrades or system patches.
  • Assisting with establishing robust payroll processes and improving existing processes.

About you:

You will be a self-motivated and outcome-orientated payroll professional with a passionate ‘can do’/adaptable mind set. In addition to this, you’ll be analytical, numbers and detail driven and love a challenge.

You will also need to have the following:

  • A Business or Payroll Administration qualification would be advantageous.
  • Credible End to End payroll processing experience ideally within large, complex and high-volume environments.
  • Previous experience in Chris21 (iChris) system.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Sound understanding of Industrial Awards/Enterprise Agreements (preferable)
  • Advanced proficiency in use of Excel
  • Be a demonstrated initiative-taker with capability to take ownership of tasks.
  • A team player with a positive and energetic outlook.
  • Demonstrated experience working within the following systems:

– Google

– Kronos/Dimensions (UKG)

– ServiceNow

– SuccessFactors

  • Experience using IT Support systems (i.e. Servicenow) to prioritise, triage and support end user issues.
