About the role
ARC is looking for a new team member to join our Bathurst team as an Operator. In this role you will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment where we value safety above all else. Within this role we have the scope to accommodate either someone with prior experience looking for further career development or someone that might be looking to break into a new industry/career as we provide full on the job training.
This role is fulltime, 38 hours per week overtime where required. Normal working hours are Mon Fri 7:00am – 3:00pm. We value a healthy work/life balance, so overtime is minimised where possible and weekend work is rare.
Joining the ARC team provides a valuable chance to acquire hands-on experience in steel processing, pre-fabrication, and distribution. Within our extensive network of branches, there is plenty of room for growth and development both locally in Mackay and nationally.
As a key member of the team, you will:
- Learn to operate off-coil machines, shearline and manual benders to cut and shape reinforcing bars
- Input job tags on machines to produce steel products
- Operate an overhead crane and forklift
- Accurately pick and pack orders
- Load and unload trucks for customers or our drivers
- Promote and contribute to a safe workplace

- Background in steel, manufacturing or construction industries would be preferred
- Forklift license and experience (not essential)
- Crane ticket and experience (not essential)
