Join our team of intelligent and collaborative Changemakers and make your mark on tomorrow! In this role, youll work in our Water Group supporting our Water Utilities team locally and nationally. 

Our Water team takes a holistic and sustainable approach to managing the use of water resources. We support governments, investors, developers, manufacturers, utilities, and corporations by mitigating risks, meeting regulatory requirements, reducing the cost of water use and disposal, as well as creating strategies for a sustainable future. 

What youll do 

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work as part of a national multi-disciplinary team to deliver on project goals. Key duties will include: 

  • Developing experience in monitoring and managing the scope of multiple projects of varying size and complexity and applying WSP business systems to effectively deliver these.
  • Liaising with project stakeholders including clients and vendors.
  • Contributing to the production and verification of high-quality technical documentation, that presents complex information and results effectively, to technical and non-technical clients and stakeholders.
  • Providing technical contribution to proposals and/or pursuits.
  • Identifying and resolving project safety risks through contemporary Safety in Design methods, ensuring legislative compliance.
  • Becoming involved in the water industry through participation in committees, industry groups, or contributing to papers and presentations.
  • Undertaking all responsibilities in a safe manner.

About you 

You are a skilled Mechanical Engineer with experience in water and wastewater conveyance and treatment. You are developing your skills in hydraulic design, equipment selection, and have a good understanding of safety processes like CHAIR and HAZOP. You enjoy being part of a team, working together to deliver great outcomes for clients and projects. With a commitment to learning and clear communication, you build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members to contribute to successful project results. 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualifications, CPEng and/or RPEQ preferred or working towards obtainment.
  • Experience working within an engineering consultancy, or in a design role for a contractor or asset owner.
  • Experience in the Water industry is advantageous but not essential.
