What’s on offer?

We are looking for a Leading Hand to join our Launceston Asphalt Surfacing and Spray Seal Crews.

You’ll be a motivated Leading Hand who can support the Foreman and motivate site Crews – ensuring the focus remains on safety, quality, productivity and cost.

Core responsibilities will include:

Maintain safe, clean and secure worksite
Assist in Leading an Asphalt and or a Spray Seal Crew

Assisting with co-ordination of activities to ensure that equipment and resources are efficiently utilised to meet production outcomes.
Liaising with Foreman to provide direction and support to Crew Members to achieve set goals and maximise profit and efficiency.
Reporting of equipment maintenance requirements
Ensure quality of work meets set standards.
Assist with the training of crew members.

How you’ll connect to the role?

Experience in delivering Asphalt and Spray Seal projects within a safe working environment.
Motivating and leading Crew members to ensure maximum productivity and working within tight deadlines.
Participating in the pre-planning for all jobs
The ability to positively influence and assist in leading a Crew.
A proven commitment to site safety.
Liaising with Foreman to provide direction and support to workers to achieve set goals and maximise profit and efficiency.
Getting involved and understanding the day-to-day operation firsthand.
Computer literacy with demonstrated ability to complete reports in a timely manner.
