About the role
We are on the lookout for a Light Vehicle Mechanic who will be responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance activities within a designated Orica mining facility.
The position will be primarily based at our Welshpool Office, Perth working Mondays-Fridays and site maintenance.
The Light Vehicle Mechanic will be involved in troubleshooting complex issues, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
What you will be doing
- Oversee routine maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and servicing of equipment and facilities;
- Improves overall regional maintenance by reducing Vehicle Off Road (VOR) while at the same time ensuring vehicle/equipment reliability;
- Coordinate and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment;
- Provide regular updates and reports on vehicle/equipment repair status and performance;
- Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks;
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment;
- Repair and replace faulty components such as brakes, transmissions, engines, and other parts.
What you will bring
Requirements:
- Australian Certification in Light Vehicle;
- Qualified LV mechanic (experience with Isuzu, Mitsubishi and Toyota);
- Experience working on mine sites;
- Extensive knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems;
- Extensive exposure to mechanical and electrical repairs;
- Exposure to new technologies e.g. new generation and electric vehicles;
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, repair manuals, and maintenance management software.
