SSR Mining – Seabee Gold Operation (SGO) is hiring for a Pipefitter, Industrial (Fixed Plant).
About Your New Role:
Under the direction of the Supervisors, Maintenance, you will be responsible for the safe execution of maintenance work that includes general pipefitting and non-pipefitting tasks. You will ensure that maintenance activities are safely carried out to Fixed Plant, and associated assets, in a safe and efficient manner. You will work with the maintenance execution team to maintain, monitor and improve the performance of assets including process piping, valving, pumps, crushers and conveyors.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a commitment to safety and active participation in company safety systems, initiatives, policy and procedure.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements.
- Measure, cut, thread, groove and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools.
- Cement, solder, and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system.
- Perform various types of rigging and operation of overhead crane, chain-falls, come-along and other lifting and rigging tools.
- Work at heights with the use of safety equipment such as fall arrest harness, SRL’s, and aerial work platforms.
- Maintenance and repair of mill assets including pumps, conveyors, compressors, jaw and cone crushers.
- Operate heavy equipment as required – telehandler, aerial work platforms and scissor-lift.
- Perform lubricating maintenance, cleaning activities, and repair of tools.
- Record hours, notes and parts requirements or issues on work orders daily.
- Reporting of safety issues, hazards, incidents and near-misses.
- Other duties or support of the Fixed Plant Maintenance department or others, as required.
Your Knowledge and Skills:
- High degree of knowledge on pipe installation, pipe maintenance and pipe construction principles in an industrial setting.
- Experience with general equipment maintenance including diagnose, repair and rebuild of rotating equipment, conveyors and crushers is an asset.
- Team membership skills including the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Self-starter, energetic and committed to achieving results.
- Possess a highly flexible approach to work execution.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Computer skills and SAP or other CMMS experience an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative in a results-oriented environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- A positive and proactive attitude towards safety is essential.
Your Education and Experience:
The successful candidate will have:
- Interprovincial trade certificate in related piping trade. Plumbing, Steamfitter/Pipefitter with minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Experience in mining, industrial or production environment.
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
About Our Working Conditions:
This position has a schedule of 2 weeks in -2 weeks out, at our remote camp which you will be required to fly in fly out with pick up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and La Ronge.
