About the role:
We are currently seeking a HRBP to join our CMJV mine. The CMJV has open-cut operations at Coppabella and Moorvale mines located 150 kilometres west of Mackay that produce metallurgical PCI coal.
As the HR BP, you will report to the HR Manager based onsite. The scope of this role will be to provide HR services and administrative support to the HR Manager in performance management, employee engagement and retention, recruitment, record keeping, reporting and employee relations.
Duties will include:
- Provision of high quality and timely advice to the Superintendents, Supervisors and employees
- Input into specific HR projects
- Assist with rosters, payroll queries and processes when required
- Support managers and supervisors as required in disciplinary action, recruitment and selection, performance management, EEO and other areas of HR as required
- Participate in the recruitment process when required
- Assist in maintaining the content of HR Policies, Procedures and Forms and ensure employees are educated in their availability and function
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of individual employee details
- Build and foster a close working relationship with employees
- Ensure established performance management processes are being followed and provide support as required
- Provide documented feedback on current performance and training and development needs for all employees
- Assist with Industrial Relations matters and disputes
- Provide input to absenteeism management processes and ensure information is available to line managers to address identified problem areas.
The lifestyle:
This position is offered on a 9 day fortnight. The role has flexibility to allow for residential, DIDO from Mackay and surrounds or FIFO out of Brisbane.
About you:
Ideally, you will be an experienced HR professional with a strong generalist HR background and be able to provide accurate and timely advice across all aspects of HR. A similar industry background would be favoured such as mining/heavy industry and exposure to working on site in a regional area. Knowledge and skills would also include:-
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources
- 5 years experience in a similar position
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to summarise data and provide recommendations
- Exceptional customer service focus and relationship building skills
- Highly proficient in HRIS ideally Success Factors / SAP and Kronos
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Substantial exposure to a unionised workforce.
