Civil Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

This client is a multi disciplinary civil contractor working RMS, piling, drainage, structures, earthworks and rail projects. As a business they have grown considerably over the past 5 years and built a very reputable business as a contractor in the infrastructure space.

The Role:

The role will involve estimating on major Roads, Rail, civil excavations and piling projects.

Reporting to the operations manager there will be lots of scope for career progression into a lead estimator role.

Duties will include:

Estimating from first principles
Planning, programming and scheduling
Preparation of tender documents. Quantity take off, Preparing RFQ, Costing and detailed BOQ, Contract conditions
Attending tender interviews with the client and negotiations
Keep track of tenders and upcoming jobs and also preparation of reports
Proposing value engineering solutions and reducing costs

Requirements for this role:

Degree in quantity surveying, civil engineering or related discipline
Be highly analytical with strong attention to detail
Proven track record of winning tenders on civil, piling, structures, RMS roads and rail infrastructure
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to work autonomously or in a team
