Our Red Chris operation is now recruiting for the position of Dispatcher with a competitive base salary between $125,,000 dependant on experience, skills, and qualifications. The compensation package also includes a comprehensive Benefits plan, Vacation allotment, RRSP contribution program with organizational matching, and a Travel allowance to get to and from the worksite.
We are seeking an individual for a Fly-in, Fly-out opportunity working on a two-weeks-in, two-weeks-out rotation.
Purpose of the role
This role will report to the Dispatch Lead and will safely organize, schedule and dispatch production mine operations work crews
Role Accountabilities
Safety: Demonstrate absolute commitment and leadership in providing a safe working environment by:
- Conduct daily hazard/risk assessments of their work area
- Promote and maintain a culture of safe production by compliance with company safety systems, policies, procedures, accountabilities and Newmont safety behaviours
- Ensure all incidents, near miss and hazards are reported
Technical: Demonstrate technical and operational excellence in:
- Balance workload and make decisions in consultation with other stakeholders to achieve safe production outcomes as dictated by weekly and monthly plans
- Maximize the utilization and output of the Load and Haulage fleet using the Minestar FMS
- Communicate with the crusher operator to ensure correct feed (quality, blend and quantity) is delivered to the crusher
- Promote and actively participate in business improvements and ideas
- Collaborate with mobile maintenance team to maximize equipment reliability and availability
- Capture, validate and record mine data, shift and production reports using Minestar FMS
- Provide accurate information to ensure informed production decisions
- Serving as central communication personnel for mine production and safety, including emergency events
Scheduling Accountabilities
- Routinely monitor daily and weekly mine plans and ensure compliance
- Take appropriate action where necessary to apply short interval controls to achieve the mine plan
- Ensure compliance with maintenance schedules
- Ability to identify the gaps in process and remedy if possible or escalate
People Accountabilities
- Utilise strong working relationships with shift supervisors to collaborate and optimize the daily mine plan during the shift in response to changing conditions and events
- Foster a positive and productive working relationship between team members and with other departments on site
- Receive, prepare and relay work orders, information and messages to and from work crews, supervisors and technical personnel
- Engage the team to actively promote Hazard awareness and promote the reporting of near misses
- Display behaviour consistent with Newmonts Code of Conduct

About you:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a mine environment, including heavy equipment operations and exposure to different types of mobile equipment.
- Experience using MineStar and/or other Fleet Management software is required.
- Minimum 1 year of previous Dispatching experience is required
- Previous Supervisory experience is an asset
- Strong communication and decision-making skills in an open pit mining environment.
- Ability to maintain high performance levels in stressful, multi-tasking scenarios.
- Actively participate in a positive and safe working atmosphere.
- Valid BC Drivers License.
