Reporting to the Fleet Management and OT Superintendent, and as an integral member of the Mining team, the primary purpose of the Dispatch/Control Room Operator role includes fleet management, meeting set targets and being able to manage competing priorities.
Applications are open to all employees and full-time equivalent contractors at HVO, Glencore and Yancoal sites.
About the Role
- Maximise the utilization of the load and haulage fleets using the Dispatch system.
- Monitor accurate statistical information is captured and recorded by the system.
- Liaise with shift supervisor and engineers to minimize production and maintenance delays.
- Provide an essential service communication link between production, maintenance, planning, prep plant and the operations employees.
- Interaction with OT technicians.
- Input to hot seat, blast and crib delay management.
- Liaise with supervisor should any behaviours or activities occur fall outside the dispatcher’s sphere of control or responsibility.
- Provide support to drill crew, mine services, blast team, training, CHPP and or Production Supervisor.
- Maintain system software and hardware, liaising with Modular mining as necessary.
- Develop solutions to identified problems and take accountability for resolving issues.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations & statutory obligations.
- Understand and apply relevant company policies, procedures and responsibilities.
- Accept responsibility and be accountable for actions.
- Demonstrate a detailed understanding of relevant costs and analyse to achieve optimal outcomes for the operation.
- Identify significant variances from budgeted costs & escalate issues and solutions to appropriate persons.
- Manage assets effectively to achieve budget utilisation rates.
- Provide ongoing information to supervisors to achieve set up of pit is optimised.
- Provide information to all employees as to the status and location of all equipment.
- Assists to deliver on activities planned by Technical Services and supervisors.
- Continuous monitoring performance against the plans.
- Provide supervisors with any information required for production reporting.

About You
- A comprehensive understanding of fleet management, optimisation and reporting
- Committed to continuous improvement and have a genuine desire to influence the success of mining operations and technology
- Previous experience with real-time fleet management systems at large scale mining operators
- Motivated individual with excellent written & verbal communication skills
- High level computer literacy with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities
- Exceptional teamwork skills with the ability to work autonomously as required
