The Technology Team at Granny Smith has an opportunity for a Specialist Digital & Control Systems to join their team.

Role Details:

Reporting to the Superintendent Technology & Data Communciations, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, profitable and efficient operations by implementing and supporting the best technological solutions for operational SCADA and system design, integration and automation; operational data collection, management analysis, ISO compliance and reporting.

This role would be offered on a 8 days on, 6 days or 4 days on, 3 days off roster Fly in Fly out from Perth or Drive in Drive out from the Goldfields region.

About the role:

  • Manage the site Process Control Management of Change process, ensuring all changes are approved, well documented, and tested;
  • Identify, implement, and manage control system upgrades to improve reliability of operational technology;
  • Recognise and input process optimisation opportunities by utilising operational technology, including automated plant startups and shutdowns;
  • Provide technical direction and support to electrical personnel in fields of instrumentation, process control, automation, functional safety, industrial data networks and tele-remote/guidance systems.

About you:

  • You will have a tertiary qualification – Diploma or Degree in Control Systems Engineering, IT or related discipline
  • Prior proven process control system experience, preferably in the Mining industry
  • Prior experience in gold or base metals and milling operations is desirable
  • Experience with automation of Mineral Processing Plants
  • WA C class manual drivers license
  • Proficiency in AVEVA Plant SCADA; Schneider EcoStruxure Control Expert; Octoplant; and TCP/IP, WiFi, Ethernet and fibre optic communications would be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of OsiSoft PI Historian and underground remote operational technology is desirable
  • Senior First Aid Certificate desirable
