THE ROLE


Applications are sought from experienced Alternate Underground Mine Manager to join the team at Ora Banda.

The responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Ensure that all activities are carried out to the highest standard of safety in accordance with Company policies and workplace safety and environmental regulations.
  • As the appointed person, meet the requirements and obligations of the Alternate Underground Manager in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act , and Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations .Work as part of the underground technical team to plan and deliver production targets.
  • Day to day management of the underground mining contractor to ensure that contractual obligations and production targets are being achieved.
  • Ensure that short and medium term mine plans are aligned to achieve the LOM design.
  • Ensure that mine infrastructure requirements are scoped, resourced, and delivered as required by the mine schedule.
  • Provide leadership to technical personnel and mentor their development.
  • Prepare operational and technical reports as required.
  • Develop and implement systems, procedures, and standards.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of operational and financial budgets in underground operations.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:  

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
  • WA First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency.
  • 10 years experience in underground development and production environments.
  • A sound knowledge of statutory safety requirements.
  • A proven history successfully managing the performance of an underground mining contractor.
  • Have an approach and communication style which supports the sharing of knowledge and professional development.
  • Strong working knowledge and application of mining software.
  • Current WA manual drivers licence.
  • Technical expertise in relation to underground mine design, drill and blast, optimization and planning.
  • Excellent leadership skills to develop an effective team culture.
  • Proficient with computer scheduling software (Deswik highly regarded).
  • Current WA manual drivers licence.
