The Opportunity

We are seeking an experience Accounts Payable Officer to join our team located in Naval Base. Working within a close-knit and dynamic finance team, the role manages the accounts payable function for the business unit.

Your role will include:

• Ensuring compliance with appropriate authorisation procedures under Delegation of Authority
• Carry out the day to day accounts payable function for the business; including ensuring invoice accuracy from suppliers and matching with purchase orders and delivery dockets, correct coding and allocations to cost centres and expense codes, raising and receipting purchase orders, maintaining correct records and updating accounts payable procedures as part of the Quality Management System ISO
• Accurate and timely processing and payment of supplier invoices, credit card and employee expense claims, including ensuring that supplier payments do not exceed agreed cashflow forecast
• Preparing accounts payable related accruals
• Ensuring on-charges to intercompany and external suppliers are communicated timely to accounts receivable Liaising with stakeholders to resolve any discrepancies and irregularities
• Reconciling FBT related transactions and project fixed assets
• Assisting with cash flow forecasting
• Supplier maintenance in ERP
• Monthly supplier and credit card reconciliation
• Maintaining daily fuel dips & odometer register

What well love about you

• Previous experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of accounts payable and other accounting principles and standards
• Experience in managing high volume invoice data entry
• Exposure to an ERP (QAD MFGPro experience highly regarded)
• Intermediate MS Excel skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate at all levels and build relationships
• High degree of professionalism, confidentially and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and meet deadlines
